The Uptown Hornz
The Uptown Hornz are very pleased to be back again this year, sharing the stage with Brian Simpson's Ultimate Elvis Show Band. Featuring Headliner Shawn Klush .The Uptown Hornz are comprised of the B.C Interior's finest Brass & Woodwind players, who are all equally versed in all styles of Music from Jazz to R&B , Funk and Classical.
The Uptown Hornz, Directed by Mike Schell have performed with many Elvis Tribute Artist including Shawn Klush , Donny Edwards, Pete Paquette ,Brandon Bennett , Robin Kelly , Gino Monopoli, Brian Simpson, Danny Vernon ,Ben Klein , Steve Elliott and Elvis Generations.
The Uptown Hornz are:
Mike Schell - Mus Dir Trumpet/Flugelhorn
Chris Manuel - Trombone
Gordy Frie- Bari Sax
Dean Bates- Tenor Sax / Flute
Dave Mcdonald- Trumpet
Dean Mcmillen - Trumpet
As well as Performing for Elvis Tribute Shows, The Uptown Hornz have recently shared the stage with Al Baby Webster "Canadian Blues Drummer of the Year 2010" , Sonny Rhodes, The Trailor Park Boys, The Sleddogs, The Mocking Shadow's and The James Brown Horn Section . The Uptown Hornz are also part of the Okanagans Premier R&B / Motown band Random Act.
Recently the Uptown Hornz lost one of our Founding members Mr. Stu Dawson Tenor sax/ Flute, This years show is dedicated to his memory.
The Uptown Hornz are pleased to be the official Horn Section for Legends of Rock N Roll and are touring this summer and fall 2011
